Chinese shipbuilder Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry has secured an order for six new multipurpose general cargo ships, further expanding its orderbook, Splash247 reports. The deal, arranged in partnership with state-owned China Shipbuilding Trading Corp, covers 7,350 dwt vessels and includes a ship export cooperation agreement tied to the contract.

Dajin Heavy, a subsidiary of Bestway Marine & Energy Technology, disclosed in a stock exchange filing that Bestway will provide up to $59.4 million in counter-guarantees to meet the letter of guarantee requirements for the project.

Construction is slated to start in late June 2026, with deliveries spread between September 2027 and December 2028.

Located in Jiangsu Province, the yard has been an active player in the multipurpose and general cargo market, with multiple projects already in progress. In addition to this latest deal, Dajin Heavy recently signed a separate agreement for six anchor handling tug supply vessels, underscoring its ambitions across different ship segments.
