Greek dry bulk owner Costamare Bulkers Holdings Limited has signed a strategic deal with Cargill International covering vessel charters, decarbonization projects, and joint investment opportunities.
The agreement includes the transfer of most of Costamare’s trading book to Cargill, the charter of four Supramax vessels for four to six months, and a bunkering services deal with Seascale Energy, a joint venture of Cargill and Hafnia. Both companies will also work on vessel efficiency and decarbonization initiatives.
Gregory Zikos, CEO of Costamare Bulkers, said the partnership helps reduce exposure to volatile trading while keeping the CBI operating platform at the core of operations. Costamare Bulkers owns 37 dry bulk vessels totaling about 3.1 million dwt, operating globally since its spin-off from Costamare earlier this year.
