ONE expands fleet with new 13,900 TEU containership from Imabari Shipbuilding

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has taken delivery of a new 13,932 TEU containership, One Strength, built by Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding.

Constructed at the company’s Marugame headquarters, the 140,233 GT vessel measures 335.94 meters in length, 51 meters in breadth, and 30.1 meters in depth. Classed by Lloyd’s Register, One Strength has been designed with the option for future conversion to methanol or ammonia fuel and holds an approval in principle for both, along with readiness to integrate carbon capture technology.

To meet current environmental regulations, the vessel is equipped with a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS), an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) solution, a ballast water treatment system, and a hazardous material inventory in line with the Hong Kong Convention. Energy-saving devices, a twisted rudder, and friction-reducing hull coating further enhance fuel efficiency.

The addition of One Strength continues ONE’s fleet expansion, following recent deliveries of One Sincerity, One Sapphire, and One Singapore.
