The containership ONE Innovation has set a new world record by loading 22,233 TEU at Singapore, the largest volume ever carried on a single container ship, Ocean Network Express reports.
The 400-meter-long vessel, delivered in 2023 by Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard, is the first in ONE’s series of six 24,000-TEU “Megamax” vessels. With a maximum capacity of 24,136 TEU, it is the largest ship in the company’s fleet.
The record-breaking voyage follows ONE Innovation’s earlier achievements. In December 2023, the same ship loaded 22,000 TEU in Singapore, surpassing the prior record set just a month earlier by the ONE Integrity at 21,954 TEU.
Currently operating on the Asia–Europe route (FE4) under the Premier Alliance, ONE Innovation is en route from Singapore to Felixstowe. Founded in 2017 through the integration of “K” Line, MOL, and NYK’s liner businesses, Ocean Network Express ranks sixth among the world’s container carriers, with more than 260 vessels and a total capacity of around 2 million TEU.
