Seaspan orders two 11,800 teu containerships at Yangzijiang

Seaspan Corporation has expanded its newbuilding program with an order for two 11,800 teu containerships at China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, Splash reported.

The two new ships are expected to enter service between 2027 and 2029.

This latest move reinforces Seaspan’s long-standing relationship with the Chinese yard and follows earlier orders placed this year for twelve 9,000 teu ships at Hudong-Zhonghua and Shanghai Waigaoqiao, with deliveries scheduled from 2028.

Seaspan, a unit of Atlas Corp, is the world’s largest containership lessor, operating over 180 vessels and holding more than 40 on order.
