A large-scale project to modernize one of Ukraine’s largest grain terminals, backed by American investment funds, has officially started at the Odesa Sea Port. The modernization is being carried out by Lavanda Terminal, a company established with participation from Argentem Creek Partners and Innovatus Capital,AgroReview reported.
The modernization of the terminal, with a throughput capacity of about 5 million tons per year, is expected to strengthen transport logistics in the region, expand export opportunities for southern Ukraine, and increase cargo flows. The project is expected to create around 150 new jobs and attract significant private capital for port infrastructure development, generating additional tax revenues.
The terminal will be managed by Swedish businessman Carl Sturen, Honorary Consul of Sweden in Odesa, whose involvement is expected to bring modern management standards, transparency, and international investment.
