Fourteen people were injured after the river cruise ship Anna Katharina struck a lock while sailing on the Danube in Vienna in the early hours of 24 July.
The 135-metre vessel, carrying around 200 passengers and crew, hit the wall and gate of the Freudenau lock, causing significant damage to its bow.
Firefighters, police and medical teams responded to the scene by land and water. A doctor travelling onboard provided first aid before emergency crews arrived. Firefighters also used a fireboat and an aerial ladder to assist passengers.
Authorities said 14 people were injured, most of them German nationals. Six were taken to hospital with back, neck and chest injuries, while the others suffered minor bruises.
Despite the damage, MV Anna Katharina remained afloat and did not take on water. After emergency services completed their checks, operator Phoenix Reisen transferred the remaining passengers to another river cruise ship so they could continue their journey.
Police and prosecutors have launched an investigation. Authorities are examining whether a technical malfunction contributed to the accident, although the cause has not yet been determined.
