At the end of October, the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine held a meeting with trade union representatives of the maritime companies and the maritime noncommercial associations.
The Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelyan noted that reduction of payments and administrative charge, maritime administration, and involvement of the world port operators are the main steps on the way of development of maritime industry.
“The ministry of infrastructure transferred on approval draft regulations on cancellation of 75% payments on activities of the companies of the maritime industry. Also, there is a work on formation of maritime administration, reformation of AMPU and negotiations on involvement of world port operators.
Among the positive moments, Vladimir Omelyan noted: “The question of formation of maritime administration moves ahead step by step. I am sure that it is the only thing to do for Ukraine to have a body of executive power. It is also necessary to continue reforming of AMPU. This reform should be finished to have functioning national companies”.
The Minister emphasized the importance and prospects of attraction of the world port operators to the Ukrainian market.
“The ministry engages in negotiations with world port operators “DP World” and “Hutchison Ports”. We negotiate about not only in order they invested money in Ukrainian economy and maritime industry, but also to bring cargo. We have no chances to develop without it. I hope that if they come on the Ukrainian market we will have quiet work and respectable salary” — emphasized Vladimir Omelyan.
The minister of infrastructure of Ukraine also noted that at the request of the President of Ukraine the Ministry continues work on a new technique of port rates and charges: “The Ukrainian ports shall be competitive in the Black Sea basin, and, therefore, we shall reduce the list and amount of such payments”.
