A minor collision occurred early Thursday morning on the Sulina branch of the Danube River near Izmail. The Honduran-flagged bulker RAMA H reportedly lost control while maneuvering and struck a cargo vessel that was anchored near the shore.

The struck vessel was carrying Ukrainian wheat. According to initial reports, the damage appears to be minor, and no injuries have been reported.

Tracking data indicates that RAMA H had departed from Galați in Romania, bound for Tartus, Syria. It is believed the vessel had loaded grain in Reni and stopped overnight near the Sulina junction due to challenging navigation conditions and poor weather.

While maneuvering to enter the channel in the morning, the bulker misjudged the distance and collided with the anchored ship. RAMA H continued toward the Black Sea without stopping and without attempting to communicate with the affected vessel.
