Dubai-based port giant DP World has removed its chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem after newly released US Department of Justice documents referenced his association with Jeffrey Epstein, Splash 247 reports.
The files include passages in which Epstein allegedly referred to Sulayem as a close and trusted friend. Emails cited in the disclosure mention pornography and escorts. Following the publication, financial institutions in Canada and the United Kingdom suspended planned cooperation with DP World while they assess potential risks.
The company moved quickly to restructure its leadership. Essa Kazim has been named chairman, and Yuvraj Narayan assumes the role of group chief executive. The change ends Sulayem’s long tenure at the top of one of the world’s largest port and logistics operators.
Sulayem spent decades with DP World and led the company through a major phase of global expansion, strengthening its presence across international trade routes.
The development places DP World under heightened scrutiny as partners evaluate reputational exposure and the possible impact on future port and logistics projects.
