The crude oil tanker Tony struck a berth structure and damaged a loading crane while manoeuvring at the Ust-Luga seaport on 14 February 2026.
The vessel’s bow contacted the pier and a shore-based crane during berthing operations at a crude export terminal. No injuries were reported among the crew or port personnel, and officials stated that no oil spill or pollution was detected following the impact. An official investigation has been opened to determine the cause.
The MV Tony is a Liberian-flagged Suezmax-class crude oil tanker with a deadweight of 162,000 DWT. It is operated by Greece’s Dynacom Tankers.
AIS tracking data indicate the ship was approaching the berth at slow speed at the time of contact. Investigators are reviewing whether environmental or operational factors contributed to the collision.
Ust-Luga, one of Russia’s largest crude export hubs on the Baltic Sea, handles shipments of Urals crude and petroleum products to international markets. Port operations continued following the incident, although the berth area involved was subject to inspection and temporary operational limitations.
