Two ferries collided at Jolo Port in the southern Philippines on November 4 amid rough seas brought by Typhoon Kalmaegi. According to the Philippine Coast Guard, no injuries or pollution were reported.

The 50-meter ferry Maria Rebecca, owned by Montenegro Shipping Lines, was attempting to dock when it lost control and struck the moored 103-meter RoRo passenger car ferry Antonia 1, operated by Aleson Shipping Lines. Both vessels suffered structural damage, but no serious incidents occurred.

Coast Guard officials attributed the accident to severe weather conditions, as Typhoon Kalmaegi swept through the region with winds reaching 80 mph and gusts up to 110 mph. The storm has already caused significant destruction in central parts of the country.

Authorities are conducting inspections to assess the damage and determine the cause of the allision. Despite the accident, operations at the port resumed later in the day.
