FWN SOLIDE ship collided with Finnish icebreaker

General cargo ship FWN SOLIDE (flag – Netherlands) contacted icebreaker KONTIO (flag – Finland) on approaches to Oulu, Finland, northeast Gulf of Bothnia while en route from Rotterdam to Oulu. It happened on 22 January. The collision occurred during ice channeling. FWN SOLIDE suffered hole in bow bulb, but no water ingress or pollutant leak were reported, only moderate leak of ballast water. KONTIO didn’t sustain any damages and remains active. FWN SOLIDE docked at Oulu.
